The position will provide support to Quality programs at the Granville location, within the defined World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, in a manner consistent with the Principles of Conduct and Action of Saint-Gobain. The Quality Manger is responsible for the management, development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Quality Assurance team. Through guidance and leadership, the Quality Team supports the product development and manufacturing efforts of the plant and investigates any quality issues relating to raw materials and manufactured products. The Quality Manager will be expected to ensure the plant remains in full compliance with regulatory and ISO requirements as they pertain to the plant, customer specifications, and corporate quality policies. Will also lead the plant quality activities with strategic and tactical management of new and ongoing projects to improve overall quality efficiencies in order to meet our business and customer needs. Successful Quality Management ensures compliance with product quality standards and will enhance our manufacturing processes in order to ensure we have consistent cost improvements. Essential Functions: *Implementation and oversight of a Quality Management System that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements and industry guidance, including: - Implementation of document control and review/approval of controlled documents - Implementation of change management and review of all change controls, customer specifications, raw materials and finished goods specifications. - Implementation of supplier quality management and performance of supplier audits as appropriate - Robust root cause analysis and CAPA - Management of internal/external (regulatory, customer, supply chain) audit requirements - Ensure adequate Training Program is in place - Implementation/oversight of material and product testing and review/approval of QC testing - Implementation of Quality Risk Management in relevant aspects of the QMS - Establishing specifications *Direct support and Guidance in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) to include active participation in Quality & Process Control Pillar as member or Champion to ensure KPIs and site wide objectives are met. *Manage team responsible for ensuring high quality integrity of all products/process. Ensure robust root cause analysis investigation and CAPA for deviations and nonconforming product. Develop both strategic and tactical plans for quality culture development. *Customer Management, including: - Facilitate/host customer audits as the management representative. - Ensure robust and effective corrective action to customer audit observations. - Review/approve Quality Agreements with customers - Partner in the resolution of Quality Issues and requests for information by initiating effective interdepartmental communication. *Capital Project planning, research, justification, execution and reporting utilizing the annual budget. As well as Departmental expenses management to budget. *Execute talent management activities with direct reports. Ensure proper performance management, training, and development of direct reports. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations or equivalent discipline required. Master's degree in Engineering, Math, Quality or business statistics focus preferred. Work Experience: 7+ years experience as part of a quality organization in a highly regulated industry required. 4+ years experience managing, growing and developing direct reports required. Knowledge of TQM techniques/Lean/Six Sigma & World Class Manufacturing methodology preferred. Implementation of SPC systems preferred. Practical/Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of quality standards ISO9001 (mandatory) and/or AS9100 (preferred). Strong project managements skills. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with codes and legal regulations. Demonstrated ability to communicate in numerous mediums (written, verbal, presentations, etc.). Strong computer skills (MS Office, ERP). Updates job knowledge by remaining current on standards and requirements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Knowledge and Experience with automotive standards IATF 16949. Experience performing risk analysis. About the Facility: Since 1961, manufactures a variety of PVC, polyurethane, and high performance specialty foams for bonding, sealing and vibration damping. Primary markets served include automotive, life science, industrial and habitat. Employs around 130 people in the following departments: Manufacturing/Engineering/Facilities Product Management/Marketing/Sales/Customer Care Quality Research and Development Technical Services Finance Materials Management (Sourcing and Planning) Human Resources Environmental, Safety and Health Management Three shifts/five days a week.
